Social Life

Basically you won't have one, especially if you have children, a partner, a home, 3 cats, a dog, tropical fish and a hamster, plus a part time job.

If you have any spare time go to the theatre - see plays that tie in with your degree. Likewise at the cinema.

Make contact with other mature students, these friendships become invaluable and help you stand the pace. It's also wonderful to make friends that really do share a common interest, as most people think mature students are mad (they're probably right).

It's also good to get away from study now and again, in the holiday make time when you do nothing at all towards your degree.

Try not to move house, get pregnant, married, divorced, etc. during your degree, it will not aid stress levels.

Remember your partner is not doing the degree, most of the time they will seem uninterested - this is because they are. Try not to be too boring to family and friends, you may like Sterne others may not.

Make use of the training courses on offer. There are always courses running - usually on a Wednesday - on something like; computer skills, essay writing, sign language.

Join the Sports Centre, it's cheap for students, and it will keep you healthy.

Keep watching Coronation Street, it will keep you sane !!
