Assessment for third year students
Some of the students taking the course are third year, and will need a third year ancillary assessment. These notes apply only to them: the Web creation exercise done by the second year students taking the course is not assessed.
The assessment for the third year students will be in two parts. The second part will consist of an essay done at the end of semester 2 on a topic arising from work done in that semester. Each part will contribute 50% towards one Finals mark.
The first part of the assessment will consist of an essay on the theme: literature and the internet. It will be the equivalent of 2.5-3 thousand words worth of work, but will be presented in the form of a set of linked Web pages.
Interpretation of the theme can be broad: I would suggest that you come up with an idea or a range of ideas and come and discuss it/them with me. It is very important that you get the topic approved by me before you do any serious work on it.
